The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Development Cooperation, Mr Sophonie Nitunga opened a training workshop on the Geomatics Information System (GIS) at the Best Outlook Hotel, on February 24, 2026.  The workshop’s objective was to develop the technical skills of the Ministry’s staff and modernize its information system.

In opening the GIS training workshop, Mister Sophonie Nitunga highlighted the strategic importance of reliable geomatics data for planning, monitoring and evaluation, and decision-making. This represents a significant milestone towards a more efficient and results-oriented administration.
