On Monday, February 4, 2026, Mr. Séverin Mbarubukeye, Permanent Secretary in Charge of East African Community Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and Development Cooperation, received a delegation from the Recruitment Agencies Association (RAAJ) from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led by Mr. Tariq Al-Nouti, President of the Association.

The purpose of this visit is to discuss how to explore investment opportunities in Burundi by creating new markets to enhance economic and commercial cooperation, as well as other topics of mutual interest, including strengthening the good relations that exist between Burundi and Jordan, collaboration in the health sector, promoting migrant employment, and opening travel and recruitment agencies.
The Permanent Secretary Mr. Séverin Mbarubukeye stated that the Government of Burundi values the good relations between the two countries and is committed to supporting investors who come to invest in Burundi.
This delegation, visiting Burundi from February 1 to February 7, 2026, has toured four hospitals in the country that have signed partnership contracts for the screening of candidates for Burundian migrant workers heading abroad, specifically to Jordan. These hospitals include Prince Regent Charles Hospital, Prince Louis Rwagasore Hospital, Tanganyika Care Hospital, and Kira Hospital.

As far as Mr. Tariq Al-Nouti, the head of the Jordanian delegation and President of the Association is concerned, he appreciated the good relations between Burundi and Jordan and expressed the intention to sign various agreements aimed at sharing employees, as well as the desire to receive support and facilitation from the Government of Burundi in the investment process in the country.
