The Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation receives in audience the President of the Burundian Diaspora

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Mr. Ferdinand BASHIKAKO, received in audience the President of the Burundian Diaspora, Mr. Samuel NDAYIRAGIJE, accompanied by Mrs. Mireille NDIMURUKUNDO.

Their interview focused on the various challenges facing Burundians who live abroad and the current situation of the Burundian Diaspora’s projects that he gathered during his visits to the various countries of the diaspora’s residence.

Indeed, the President of the Burundian Diaspora took the opportunity to welcome the support, encouragement and accompaniment by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation in the achievement of the projects of the united, active and dynamic Burundian Diaspora.

The Permanent Secretary, in turn, thanked the Burundian Diaspora through this delegation for their dedication to their homeland and their contribution through income-generating projects for the well-being of all Burundians as part of the implementation of the vision of Burundi, Emerging Country in 2040 and Developed Country in 2060. In addition, the Burundian diaspora represents significant economic potential for the country, as a source of foreign income, skills and knowledge useful for the economic development of the country.
