Strengthening the economic, cultural and tourism diplomacy

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO, several actions have been carried out in order to strengthen the economic diplomacy. The attraction of the foreign investments for increasing the development of Burundi; the commercial exchanges ; the technology transfer especially in the agricultural sector; the development of the tourism and a strong and dynamic private sector as well as the construction of the major infrastructure such as the airports, the ports, the railways, the highways, the conference rooms and the stadiums meeting international standards, through the strategic partnerships win-win in the context of the implementation of the revised National Development Plan (PND 2018-2027) and the Priority Action Program of Burundi (PAP 2022-2027) as well as the vision Burundi emerging country in 2040 and developed country in 2060 are the largest.

During his presentation of the Ministry’s achievements for the period from July to December 2023, Minister SHINGIRO also mentioned the actions carried out within the framework of cultural and tourism promotion. Indeed, Burundi sent drummers and the presentation of the videos to show the Burundi’s tourist attractions at the Expo 2023 in Doha in Qatar and at Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. The cultural group “Amagaba”, drummers and dancers also represented Burundi abroad.
