On June 3, 2024, the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi in Riyadh Mr Jacques Ya’coub Nahayo presented his letters of credence to the Sultan of Oman His Majesty Haïtham ben Tariq.

urundi maintains historic relations of friendship, fraternity and cooperation in various fields with the Sultanate of Oman. The bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Burundi and the Sultanate of Oman has been strengthened through the reciprocal visits and the consultations relating to education, investment developments, assistance, developments of the social infrastructure such as the schools and the regulation issues of the irregular movements in both countries. The residence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Burundi to the Sultanate of Oman is in Riyadh while the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Burundi has his residence in Dar-Es-Salaam.
It should also be noted that Burundi intends to expand the circle of partners with whom it will sign the Cooperation Agreements on the exchange of the migrant workers and the Sultanate of Oman is among the partners.
