The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation His Excellency Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO received in audience on Wednesday June 5, 2024 Mr Omar Daair, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Burundi with residence in Kigali who came to bid farewell to the end of his mandate.
The cooperative relations between the Republic of Burundi and the United Kingdom have developed gradually in recent years. The Exchanges of the official visits have in fact intensified for several years at a high level and particularly since the establishment of the elected institutions in 2005.
The cooperation actions between Burundi and the United Kingdom take place at two levels: those of British Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and those of the Government.
Most British NGOs are involved in the “Emergency Humanitarian Aid” component. Others Foreign NGOs also carry out the social activities (rehabilitation of basic social infrastructures, gender and social exclusion), development activities in the education and health sectors and those in the fight against HIV/AIDS, aid to the orphans and the vulnerable children and the good governance
