On Thursday, November 26, 2024, Ambassador Gérard Bikebako Ntahogwaroye , Political Advisor in the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, received in audience, on behalf of His Excellency Albert Shingiro , Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, a delegation from the African Union, led by H.E Ennio Maes, the Ambassador of Côte d’Ivoire to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. This delegation had come for a courtesy visit.
In their discussions, H.E Ennio Maes informed Ambassador Gérard Bikebako Ntahogwaroye that the visit was carried out as part of a humanitarian monitoring and assessment briefing on the Gatumba floods . He informed that they had provided assistance of 200 thousand dollars to the Ministry of National Solidarity, Social Affairs, Human Rights and Gender for the victims of the Gatumba floods.
Ambassador Gérard Bikebako Ntahogwaroye warmly thanked the African Union for this assistance and continued to making advocacy for the flood victims given that they are in a situation of poverty.
