Le dimanche 09 juillet 2023, Le Ministre des Affaires Etrangères et de la Coopération au Développement, Son Excellence Monsieur l’Ambassadeur Albert SHINGIRO a participé à la prémiere réunion de haut Niveau du Forum sur l’action mondiale pour le développement partagé, tenu à Pékin en République Populaire de Chine.
Son Excellence Monsieur l’Ambassadeur Albert SHINGIRO a en outre rencontré le Président de l’Agence Chinoise de Coopération Internationale pour Développement, Monsieur Luo Zhaohui. Les deux autorités ont signé un Mémorandum d’entente sur le renforcement de la coopération pour le Développement et la mise en œuvre de l’Initiative pour le Développement Mondial (IDM).
Ils ont aussi échangé sur les voies et moyens de renforcer et diversifier davantage la coopération bilatérale à travers les projets d’envergure dans les domaines d’intérêt commun à travers des partenariats stratégiques mutuellement avantageux.
Au cours de leur entretien, les deux autorités se sont engagées à accélerer les projets de développement déjà approuvés tels que l’aéroport International Melchior Ndadaye, la déviation de la route nationale RN1, le bâtiment du Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et de la Cooperation au Développement et les missions agricoles.
Ils se sont également engagés à examiner les détails techniques des projets soumis par la partie burundaise lors de la 8ème réunion ministérielle du Forum sur la Coopération Sino-Africaine (FOCAC) dont notamment l’autoroute Bujumbura Gitega et un centre International de conférence et un centre de formation professionnelle.
En plus, les deux parties se sont engagées à renforcer leur coopération dans les foras internationaux par des soutiens mutuels aux intérêts vitaux de leurs pays et peuples respectifs.
