Le samedi 1er juillet 2023, le Burundi a célébré son 61ème anniversaire de l’indépendance du Burundi. Les festivités, au niveau national, se sont déroulées à Gitega, la capitale politique, sous le haut patronage du Président de la République du Burundi, Son Excellence Evariste Ndayishimiye.
Les cérémonies se sont débutées par le dépôt des gerbes de fleurs par le Numéro Un Burundais au monument dédié au héros de l’indépendance. Ces cérémonies sont Célébrées sous le thème «Tous ensemble, contribuons au relèvement économique du pays pour atteindre une indépendance effective».
Dans son discours de circonstance, le Numéro Un Burundais a exhorté aux Burundais de redoubler d’efforts et contribuer tous dans le développement du pays pour ne plus compter sur le soutien extérieur. “Il n’y a pas d’indépendance réelle sans indépendance économique”, a ajouté Son Excellence Evariste Ndayishimiye, le Président de la République.
Ensuite, le Président de la République du Burundi a appelé les dirigeants politiques et administratifs à travailler en synergie avec la population pour renforcer la paix, la sécurité et le développement du pays tout en éliminant tout comportement ignoble et adopter les comportements des dirigeants exemplaires en imitant les héros de l’indépendance de notre pays qui se sont caractérisés par l’amour de la patrie.
En clôturant son discours, le Président de la République, Son Excellence Evariste Ndayishimiye a procédé à la remise des prix aux diverses personnalités composées des Burundais et des étrangers qui se sont distingués dans la protection du patrimoine national, le domaine de la bonne gouvernance, la défense de la paix et la sécurité, leur amour patriotique, l’humanitaire et le développement communautaire.
Signalons que le personnel du Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et de la Coopération au Développement s’est joint aux autres dans la célébration du 61ème anniversaire de l’indépendance.
