According to Mr. Delepierre, the IMF report published in June 2026 ranks Burundi in a much better position than in previous years. It commended the efforts of the Government, particularly in the area of budgetary discipline, which had contributed to a significant reduction in inflation.<br \/>\nHe also presented an analysis on how to accelerate economic growth, boost exports and consolidate an effective monetary policy.<br \/>\nIn response, Ambassador Bizimana reaffirmed the importance of the excellent relations between Burundi and the IMF, assuring that the recommendations and observations made will be taken into account. He recalled that Burundi is a peaceful country and that the Government remains committed to aligning its economic policy with the advice of IMF, with the will to move forward.<br \/>\nThe Minister concluded by wishing full success to Mr. Delepierre in his future responsibilities, inviting him to remain a benevolent ambassador of Burundi.
