He noted that some projects had not been completed following the departure of the previous Charg\u00e9 d&#8217; Affaires, but expressed his hope that they would be revived. Both officials agreed to further strengthen these initiatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For her part, Mrs. Premont affirmed her commitment to working energetically and in close collaboration on the ongoing projects. She proposed holding technical meetings to refine and accelerate their implementation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding the humanitarian situation in the region, the United States has granted approximately $4 million to Burundi in response to the emergency appeal against Ebola.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mrs. Premont also confirmed that the United States will continue to collaborate with Burundi in the areas of peace and security as well as development cooperation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another point raised concerned the granting of visas to Burundian citizens. Mrs. Premont clarified that there was no official communication on this subject yet, but that the Embassy would provide clarification through diplomatic channels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This meeting illustrates the shared desire of Burundi and the United States to strengthen their bilateral cooperation, revive stalled projects, and work together on the humanitarian and security challenges in the region.
