Mr. Hilaire welcomed this collaboration and expressed the desire to further consolidate it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the topics addressed were the monitoring and coordination of ongoing UNESCO projects in Burundi, as well as the state of progress in preparations for the Regional Forum on Peace and Security scheduled for September 2026. According to Mr. Hilaire, the choice of Burundi to host this forum is no coincidence:<br \/>\n\u2022 The country hosts a UNESCO office,<br \/>\n\u2022 It currently holds the presidency of the African Union,<br \/>\n\u2022 And it has played a major role in restoring peace and security in the region, particularly in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9173 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Picture3399-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Picture3399-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Picture3399.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Minister Bizimana expressed his satisfaction with the quality of relations with UNESCO, noting that reports on Burundi coming from Paris are very positive. He recalled the importance of UNESCO\u2019s action in key sectors such as education, youth, culture and the arts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister also mentioned Burundi\u2019s wish to have certain natural and tourist sites inscribed as cultural heritage, notably the Rusizi Park and the Kibira Park.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding ongoing projects and the regional forum, \u00c9douard Bizimana assured that bilateral exchanges would continue.
