Burundi is proud of having maintained the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation with the European Union and with most of its member states for many years. Those privileged relations for several years, he added, give the European Union a place of choice, that of being the Burundi’s main partner in terms of volume of aid. He affirmed that thanks to the European support, Burundi was able to carry out the significant actions to combat poverty by meeting the urgent needs of the population through the programs and projects of the National Development Plan (revised PND) 2023-2027.<\/p>\n
The Permanent Secretary also emphasized that the Government of Burundi has the wish to win the challenge of eradicating poverty, to lead the country on solid rails to continue moving forward both on the path to peace, security and socio-economic development and to arrive at the much desired stage of his Vision Burundi emerging country in 2040 and developed country in 2060. He ended his speech by requesting the personal involvement of all the Chiefs of diplomatic and consular Missions, all the Representatives of International Organizations and the various other partners, so that participation in the Round Table of development partners planned for a few months to come is massive, active and effective.<\/p>\n
Note that the European Union has decided to deploy its efforts to support the victims of serious floods and landslides.
