Concerning the Declaration of a public utility of the area intended to accommodate the infrastructures of the services of the Presidency of the Republic, the decision has been signed. As part of the following-up of the RN1 deviation project, the China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited won the contract. As for the rehabilitation, the extension and modernization project of Melchior NDADAYE International Airport, the companies China Airport planning and design Institute Co. Limited and Northwest civil aviation Project management Co. won the contract. The Ministers in charge of infrastructure and transport have been notified. Regarding the Construction Project of the Building of the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, a team of Chinese experts has been in Burundi since may 28, 2023. In addition, the Port of Bujumbura rehabilitation project was also monitored. A field visit was made by the authorities of the Ministries in charge of foreign affairs, infrastructure and transport with the Head of Mission of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The Minister added that those sheds will be built in Ngozi and Karusi, on the financing of the revenue from the sale of the Japanese donated rice. Concerning the public lighting on urban roads, the project will be financed from the revenue from the sale of the Japanese donated fuel.
