The Heads of State of the Economic Community of Central African States have taken note of Burundi&#8217;s offer to host the new ECCAS court of the auditors provided for in the new revised Agreement of the community. The Head of State is also involved in restoring the peace in the DRC through the Nairobi peace process under the guidance of the East African Community. He was also elected as the 3rd Vice-President of the African Union, a position that opens the door to the Presidency of the African Union in 2026. Burundi was then elected to the position of a Vice-President of the 77<sup>th<\/sup> session of the United Nations General Assembly and obtained the support of the Economic Community of Central African States to occupy the position of a President of the United Nations General Assembly in 2029.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the process, the President was elected as a Champion of the African Union for the youth, peace and security agenda, and Bujumbura the capital of African youth. Burundi participates in the African Union Peace and Security Council and on the Africa-CDC Board of Directors. The President of the Republic was elected to the post of a Vice-Chairman of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), a position which opens the door to the chairmanship of COMESA in 2024. During the summit of the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa, Burundi was chosen by the Heads of State to host the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> summit of COMESA next year, a regional body which includes 21 african countries. The President of the Republic was also elected to the post of a President of the Summit of the Regional Monitoring Mechanism of the Framework Agreement for the Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the Region, at the end of the 11<sup>th<\/sup> summit which was successfully hosted by Burundi.
