They also agreed to respect the progress made so far in the political, military, humanitarian and socio-economic fields by the various parties concerned in order to meet the challenges. They were then congratulated H.E. F\u00e9lix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo and H.E. Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, for their commitments to the peaceful resolution of the conflict through dialogue and mediation under the facilitation of H.E. Jo\u00e3o Manuel Goncalves Lourenco.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This announcement goes on by saying that the summit participants also took note of the progress made by the EAC and welcomed the efforts deployed by H.E. \u00c9variste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi and Chairman of the security, peace and cooperation framework for DRC and the region and H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, former President of the Republic of Kenya and Facilitator of the Nairobi process, and commended the EAC Regional Force for the restoration of peace and stability in Eastern DRC. They then welcomed ECCAS&#8217;s commitment to cooperate fully with other regional organizations on political, diplomatic and security initiatives with a view to pacification. They further commended the efforts of the EAC, ECCAS, ICGLR and SADC which recognized the need of an harmonized and coordinated approach under the guidance of the African Union to fight for the security of the Great Lakes region and encouraged them to further strengthening their cooperation and intensifying their efforts in the area of \u200b\u200bcollective security.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Summit participants commended SADC, in particular, for its initiative calling for the harmonization and increased coordination of all political and diplomatic initiatives and efforts towards peace and security in the East of the DRC. They also welcomed the progress made in the preparation of pre-cantonment and cantonment sites for the disarmament of the M23, and exposed the need of continuing the implementation of the disarmament, demobilization, reintegration and community stabilization (DDRC-S) program for ex-combatants. They further adopted the \u201cJoint framework of the East African Community (EAC), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS-S), the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR ), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the United Nations (UN) for the coordination and harmonization of peace initiatives in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) under the auspices of AU\u201d, which aims to promote coherence of existing quadripartite peace initiatives in accordance with relevant decisions and instruments, the statement continue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Summit participants endorsed the establishment of a \u201cMultilevel coordination working group\u201d composed by the representatives of the DRC and Rwanda, the AU, the Presidents of the EAC, the ICGLR, the SADC and ECCAS, as well as the UN, with particular emphasis on the political, diplomatic, military, humanitarian and socio-economic dimensions, in order to facilitate the continuous exchange of information to promote coherence, as shown by the press release. This Quadripartite Summit also called on quadripartite members to fully implement the joint coordination and harmonization framework and report to the AU Peace and Security Council on a quarterly basis, as well as to other statutory meetings of the AU. He reiterated the previous decisions, mechanisms and peace initiatives of the concerned RECs\/RMs on the situation in eastern DRC as the basis for the joint framework and chowed the need for a coordinated and concerted approach to ensure its effective implementation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the same announcement, the summit participants further requested the AU Commission to convene a meeting of the Heads of Member States of the quadripartite in order to coordinate the existing and planned deployments in the East of the DRC. This summit underscored the critical importance of timely exchange and consultation between the African Union Commission, the United Nations and regional bodies with regard to initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability in eastern DRC and in the region. This summit reaffirmed the central role of the peace, security and cooperation framework and its governance mechanism for the coordination and exchange of information in order to ensure peace and security in the Eastern DRC and the region and called for its full implementation by signatories and guarantors. The summit noted with concern the lack of predictable, adequate and sustainable funding for peace initiatives in eastern DRC, and therefore, requests the AU Commission, in coordination with quadripartite members, to mobilize resources for the efficient and effective implementation of the joint framework for coordination and harmonization, as adopted by the quadripartite platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The summit welcomed the signing of the grant agreement between the AU and the EAC to facilitate the operations of the EAC regional force and commended the Republics of Angola and Senegal for their financial support to the process of Nairobi led by the EAC. This summit also welcomed the announcement by the Gabonese Republic of a financial contribution to peace efforts in eastern DRC, and called on other AU member States to voluntarily contribute funding to peace processes in Africa. This summit also commended the commendable efforts deployed by the armed forces of the DRC (FARDC), the EAC regional force and the United Nations Organization stabilization mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) towards to eradicate all negative forces operating in the region, the statement continued.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The same announcement reveals that the quadripartite summit finally expressed its gratitude to the Republic of Angola, through H.E.
