This team of five (5) people came for a mission to exchange experience on the design of a monitoring and management platform for the Burundian workforce abroad. This team stayed in Bujumbura, Burundi from 22 to 26 may 2023 for this purpose.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-5367 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/emploi1-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/emploi1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/emploi1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/emploi1.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On wednesday may 24, 2023, this Ugandan team, accompanied by the Employment Promotion and Labor Migration Committee, paid a visit to the four migrant worker recruitment agencies to inquire about the recruitment of the Burundian migrant workers and exchanged experiences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On thursday may 25, 2023, in the small room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, there were experience sharing sessions and three) presentations were made by the Ugandan side on the process of recruitment and recording of data in the electronic system put in place by the Government of Uganda called the External Employment Management Information System (EEMIS) to manage and track agency recruitment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To this end, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation in close collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized this mission with the aim of sharing experiences in the field of labor migration of Burundian migrant workers going to the Gulf countries and more particularly to acquire the necessary notions and information that would allow the Burundian team (Directorate for the Promotion of the Employment of Migrant Workers) to develop a platform for the management and monitoring of Burundian migrant workers abroad and also put transparency in the whole process of the recruitment of the migrant worker (from the recruitment, during the deployment and during the execution of the employment contract) thus allowing the worker in action to request an urgent help in case of need via this platform.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It should be noted that Burundi has already signed the bilateral agreements on labor migration with certain destination countries, in particular the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and has officially opened this movement of labor migration since may 17, 2023 with fourteen workers (women and girls) who left legally for Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is also reported that seventeen private recruitment agencies are already authorized and have been trained in the use of Saudi Arabia&#8217;s electronic system called MUSANED as of january 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On monday may 22, 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) welcomed a Ugandan delegation at NDADAYE Melchior International Airport.
