{"id":4998,"date":"2023-02-15T11:04:23","date_gmt":"2023-02-15T11:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/?p=4998"},"modified":"2023-02-15T11:04:24","modified_gmt":"2023-02-15T11:04:24","slug":"meeting-held-for-heads-of-diplomatic-missions-and-international-organizations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/meeting-held-for-heads-of-diplomatic-missions-and-international-organizations\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Meeting held for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On January 30, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. Stergomena Tax held a meeting for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations at Dodoma in the United Republic of Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>In this meeting, His Excellency Dr. Stergomena Tax explicitly expressed the Government&#8217;s disappointment at a security alert issued by one of the Embassies advising its citizens to be vigilant against possible terrorist attacks in Dar es Salaam and in other parts of Tanzania.<\/p>\n<p>She said the alert, which was also echoed by other embassies, caused unnecessary panic among the general public, foreigners residing in the country and those intending to travel to Tanzania, including the announcement made by Royal Dutch Airlines (KLM) to reschedule its flights.<\/p>\n<p>For this, on behalf of the Government, the Minister reminded the diplomatic community in Tanzania to observe the diplomatic channels of communication as stipulated by the Vienna Convention when transmitting information to the public in order to avoid creating unnecessary tensions inside and outside the country.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Dr. Tax reiterated the call of the Government to the Diplomatic Missions to consider moving to Dodoma since the Government has granted free land to all the Diplomatic Missions to enable them to build their chancelleries.<\/p>\n<p>In closing, the Minister reiterated the Government&#8217;s commitment to ensuring the security of Tanzania, the diplomatic community and their citizens while in Tanzania.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On January 30, 2023, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Dr. Stergomena Tax held a meeting for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations at Dodoma in the United Republic of Tanzania.
