Affairs and Development Cooperation H.E Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO together with the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Burundi Mr. Damien Mama proceeded to the opening of the second meeting of the Guiding Committee of the Cooperation Framework Plan for Sustainable Development between the Government of Burundi and the United Nations System.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his speech, the Minister reminded that this Framework Plan for Cooperation for Sustainable Development was elaborated by the technical committees consisting of executives from various sectoral Ministries on april11, 2022 and validated on august 8, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4831 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ouv-min-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ouv-min-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ouv-min-1-1024x684.jpg 1024w, Albert SHINGIRO also indicated that on this occasion, it was a question of ensuring the alignment of this Cooperation Framework Plan with the priorities of the Government of Burundi, the relevance of the response that will be provided to the challenges of Burundi, including the modernization of agriculture, energy, health, shocks due to climate and human change, capacity building of national institutions, youth entrepreneurship, support to the private sector, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister further indicated that what is new in cooperation between Burundi and the United Nations is that the United Nations system in Burundi has adopted a close approach of collaboration with the Government of Burundi in the implementation of the commitments made by the United Nations for the period 2023-2027 in transparency and mutual trust.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Minister ended his speech by specifying that the two parties share the same wish that the monitoring-evaluation mechanisms be carried out at all levels and that the national actors should take ownership of this new instrument and be able to show projects that fit well with the priorities of the Government of Burundi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4830 alignleft\" https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/ouv-mama-2048x1590.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In his turn, the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Burundi Mr. Damien Mama said that he is satisfied with the progress of the process of developing the cooperation Framework Plan for Sustainable Development and affirmed the availability of the United Nations System to support the Government of Burundi in this new format.
