These excellent relations have materialized through numerous Bilateral Agreements and Memoranda of understanding which have already been signed between these two countries, especially the signing on february 6, 1992 in Cape Town, of an Air Transport Agreement followed by the official establishment diplomatic relations on june 23, 1995 without forgetting the signing of a General Cooperation Agreement, signed on february 14, 2007 in Cannes, from which stem all the Sectoral Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding already signed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Director General at the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa and Head of the Delegation of South African Experts Mrs. Tselane MOKUENA welcomes the good relations of friendship and cooperation between these two countries<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It should be noted that Burundi and South Africa have maintained excellent relations of friendship and cooperation for a long time, but especially since 1998, which have grown with the firm commitment of South Africa to the peace process of Arusha, such as the participation of the late President Nelson Mandela Madiba in his capacity as mediator and then his successors.
