This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation HE Ambassador Albret SHINGIRO during his presentation, on October 25, 2022, of the report on the achievements of this Ministry for the months from July to September 2022.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4701 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/min-reali-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this subject, the Minister indicated that the Ministry carried out several diplomatic steps which led to results such as the fact of ensuring the vice-presidency of an ordinary session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, the fact of taking part in the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union for a 2-year term, the presidency of the PSC with brilliance in April and one of its sessions which took place in Bujumbura on April 25, 2022.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At the level of the United Nations, Ambassador Albert SHINGIRO indicated that the presence of Burundi is remarkable. Burundi is a member of the United Nations Statistical Commission, the United Nations Social Development Commission, the NGO Commission, the Administration Council of UN-Women, the Administration Council \u00a0of WFP, the Commission of the United Nations on Science and Technology for Development, of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency, of the Board of Directors of the African World Heritage Fund (AWHF), of the Central Africa sub-group within UNESCO as well as the presidency of the 18th and 19th session of the United Nations Forum on Forests.
