{"id":4432,"date":"2022-07-11T07:35:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-11T07:35:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/?p=4432"},"modified":"2022-08-03T07:36:45","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T07:36:45","slug":"burundi-celebrates-60-years-of-independence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/burundi-celebrates-60-years-of-independence\/","title":{"rendered":"BURUNDI CELEBRATES 60 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On July 9, 2022, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Burundi&#8217;s independence, the Embassy of Burundi in the Kingdom of the Netherlands did not fail to celebrate this party.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On this occasion, His Excellency Mr. Gamaliel Nkurunziza invited the Ambassadors, IOM, Burundians and friends of Burundi to a garden party reception which brought together hundreds of people.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4433 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/holl-inde-300x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"228\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/holl-inde-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/holl-inde-1024x779.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/holl-inde-768x585.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.mae.gov.bi\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/holl-inde.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his speech, the Ambassador of Burundi to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, His Excellency Mr. Gamaliel Nkurunziza expressed his satisfaction that now Burundi is an independent and a sovereign State since July 1, 1962.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&nbsp;He continued by thanking the Ambassadors of South Africa, Rwanda, Argentina, Cameroon, Morocco, representatives of the diplomatic missions of Tanzania, Kenya as well as the friends of Burundi for having responded to the invitation and accompany the Burundians to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Independence of Burundi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He said that this date is very important for Burundi and for Burundians living in the Netherlands. \u201cNow is the time to make up our minds because this day when we celebrate our Independence Day, it is a good opportunity to take a look at where we came from and where we are going, in particular by following the steps for the people who guided us in the process of struggle for our independence like Prince RUDOVIKO RWAGASORE who sacrificed his life so that Burundians could be independent\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to acquire economic independence, the current President of the Republic of Burundi, His Excellency Mr. Evariste Ndayishimiye, sensitizes all Burundians to work hard in order to increase production in all sectors, said Mr. Gamaliel Nkurunziza.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Note that the celebration was marked by a voice message recorded by Madam IRAMPA Ren\u00e9, 92 years old, &#8220;a veteran&#8221;, who honored the celebration. In her message, Madam Irampa Ren\u00e9 thanked the Embassy for organizing the event and said that as a fighter, she would have loved to participate in the celebration. Irampa Ren\u00e9 spoke briefly about Burundi&#8217;s independence process and urged his compatriots to safeguard the values \u200b\u200bof independence and honor those who fought for it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He invited all Burundians living in the Kingdom of the Netherlands to come and work together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAs Burundians, we must be proud of our country because we are going to have a better future. In order to reinforce this love, I would like to highlight the speech of our President H.E Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, which he delivered on the eve of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the independence of Burundi, which we commemorate today\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his speech, our President called on each of us and our different backgrounds to be united in order to contribute to the development of our country Burundi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cResponsible and laborious gave a strong signal that when we are united we become stronger. It is time that we turn the page of our history because our differences are our strengths to build our country. Our President, His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE has become the Commander-in-Chief of Development of our country and has urged us to follow his command\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAs Ambassador of Burundi, I urge every Burundian to contribute to the development of our country. I also urge you to stop slandering your country. Because whatever happens, Burundi will always remain your country, you will never have another one.
